Evita

The Hartt School, 2017
Based on the life of María Eva Duarte de Perón, a poor Argentinian girl who grew up to be the First Lady of Argentina. Narrated by Ché, an Argentinian everyman, Eva seduces her way to fame, wealth,  and power, ultimately capturing the heart of rising political figure Juan Perón. As First Lady of Argentina, she aligns herself with the poor, winning popularity among the descamisados. Evita becomes a hero to the poor and the working class—and an enemy to the rich. Her meteoric ascent was matched only by her sudden and mysterious death.
