Life is a Dream

The College of Wooster, 2013
In this production of the 1630s Spanish play the director wanted to incorporate modern elements into the text.  The play blends the  classical language with a contemporary esthetic using elements like projections, a modular set, and period clothing with a modern twist.  The story revolves around Segismundo, the banished Prince of Poland who has been imprisoned in a tower since birth because of an ominous prophecy.  As the events of the play unfold, questions about free will, destiny, and reality are all explored.
